I used to believe I was eating healthy, I used to eat according to the food guidelines i.e. low fat, margarine, vegetable oils, and lots of healthy brown whole-grains. However since going Paleo I have never felt healthier – both mentally and physically in my life. I’m a calmer, happier person and mother. No colds and flus, no more regular headaches, no more back pain, reduced sinus symptoms, lost 12kg without even trying, no more dark moods, clearing thinking, no more PMS. It is also so liberating not to be control by the sugar/grain highs and crashes.
I’m not asking you to believe me. I’m asking you to think for yourself and not to blindly believe what you are told – even if that is from the government and so-called nutrition ‘expects’. Give Paleo a go and judge for yourself. I would never have believed it without experiencing it myself. I used to actually believe that people caused themselves to become gluten-intolerant because they eliminated gluten for some time. I now admit how ignorant I was. Myth: Paleo is all about eating lots of meat.
My Fact: I would argue I eat more vegetables than most vegetarians. Yes, Paleo is about enjoying naturally raised meat, plus the skin on the chicken and the crackle on the pork belly – yummo!
Myth: You need to be rich to eat Paleo
My Fact: Our total grocery bill hasn’t gone up. We are not hungry, yet we eat less. You save money by not filling the trolley with products that make you overeat and then hungry an hour later and then you still want dinner.
