5 reasons to start growing your own organic food. (Plus a peek at what I'm growing in my suburban backyard)
As your Paleo journey evolves it may start extending to many aspects of your life, and utilising your suburban backyard to grow some of your own organic food is an enjoyable learning experience with lots of benefits you may not have initially thought about.
If you have been following my blogs then you will know that I decided to give up on all my vegetable seedlings in garden beds #2 and #3 back in early June. They were not growing and had gone tough and yellow.
As the famous Kenny Rogers Lyrics go…"You’ve got to know when to hold’em. Know when to fold ’em."
Well I’m folding on the entire lot of seedling in my two newest garden beds. Beds #2 and #3.
This week we starting getting 3 eggs a day! After 2 miss attempts (found the 3rd egg broken under the roost two days in a row...was she laying in her sleep?) we are now collecting 3 eggs a day. All from the same corner of the nesting bench...how cute! The yoke colours are a amazing and taste fantastic.

We have had our 3 chickens for just over 2 months.
On Monday 12th May our son made the exciting discovery of finding the very first egg after school. Since then he has collected one almost every day; such a special job that he does completely voluntary :)
